Gas industry

Part of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ), the Association of Gas and District Heating Supply Companies (FGW) is the independent statutory representative body for the country’s gas and district heating industry. The association is committed to promoting the economical, safe and environmentally friendly use of natural gas, biogas, district heating and district cooling in Austria.

In its role as an interest group for gas and district heating suppliers, the FGW deals with key issues such as security of supply, energy efficiency, sustainability, competition and the application of new technologies. In this respect, it is extremely important that the energy sector has a positive influence and helps to shape the financial and legal frameworks. The FGW’s broad spectrum of activities and services includes assessing Austrian and international legal standards, negotiating collective agreements, and running advertising campaigns for gas and district heating.
